Speaker:

For 13 years, I was trapped in a cycle of sexual sin that felt impossible to break.

2

:

But through the power of the Holy Spirit, I found freedom, healing, and a way out.

3

:

This isn't about shame or condemnation.

4

:

It's about hope and the transformation that God offers.

5

:

If you're struggling, you are not alone, and there is a way forward.

6

:

Let's talk about it.

7

:

Hey everyone, welcome to The Authentic Podcast.

8

:

My name is Christian and I've been a Christian for most of my life, dedicating myself to

not only studying the Bible, but truly living it out.

9

:

Together with my amazing wife, we co -founded a Christian nonprofit with a heart for

sharing the love of Christ with the world.

10

:

Not only am I passionate about our nonprofit, but also teaching God's Word and helping

others experience His truth in a powerful and authentic way.

11

:

If you're ready to grow in your faith, you just happen to be in the right place.

12

:

All right, let's dive in.

13

:

As I stated in the intro, I struggled with sexual sin for 13 years of my life.

14

:

From an early age, I was introduced to the internet and all of the bad websites young

teens shouldn't be looking at.

15

:

I was hooked almost every day for 13 years of my life.

16

:

It feels shameful and it wants to isolate you, but I promise there is a way out.

17

:

One night, everything changed for me and this was only through the power of the Holy

Spirit.

18

:

Like I said, for about 13 years, I was caught in an endless cycle of just looking at

things and scrolling and things and participating in acts that I know that I shouldn't be

19

:

participating in.

20

:

It was starting to skew the way that I viewed God's children, mainly his daughters.

21

:

And I was seeing them through the eyes of the internet versus through his eyes.

22

:

was twisting and just skewing everything in my life.

23

:

was taking energy away from me, taking time away from me, taking peace and serenity away

from me.

24

:

It would isolate and make me feel shameful and dark.

25

:

And I know many of you guys can, and girls can relate to this as well.

26

:

this subject is tough because

27

:

It'll give you a false pretense of what love is and how to express love, is through

feelings and sensations and things of that nature, all of which are good in a God given

28

:

and a godly manner because God created sex.

29

:

mean, let's just talk about it.

30

:

God created sex and it is amazing and it is wonderful for a marriage covenant for those

that are married that are together that are one flesh married underneath God.

31

:

in that covenant with one another.

32

:

is amazing.

33

:

But the Bible says to run away from this.

34

:

And for 13 years, I didn't.

35

:

I ran to it and not away from it.

36

:

And one night I just I gave everything up and someday I'll share a more of my testimony

with you guys.

37

:

But I gave up drinking and smoking and the Internet and relationships with other women.

38

:

I gave it all up in one night.

39

:

I said, God, I am so tired of all of this junk.

40

:

just I want you to have that.

41

:

And in that instance, the power of the Holy Spirit, God supernaturally took all of those

addictions, all of those struggles, all of that darkness, all that shame, guilt,

42

:

condemnation, all of that icky, yucky stuff.

43

:

He took it away from me supernaturally.

44

:

And that was also the night where the Holy Spirit came into my room and I spoke in

tongues, but we'll save that for another video.

45

:

I'll link a video to this that I'll create in the future about speaking in tongues.

46

:

Let's get into some biblical con context behind sexual sin and why we got to run away from

it.

47

:

So the Bible consistently teaches that sexual sin is destructive, not only to the

individual, but to relationships, communities, and one's relationship with God.

48

:

It goes beyond just physical actions and it addresses the deeper spiritual implications of

sexual immorality.

49

:

Here we'll explore why the Bible views sexual sin as particularly harmful and why it calls

believers to live in purity.

50

:

let's discuss five talking points surrounding this topic.

51

:

Talking point number one, sexual sin is against our own body.

52

:

One of the most profound reasons the Bible condemns sexual sin is because it is uniquely a

sin against one's own body.

53

:

In 1 Corinthians 6 verse 18, Paul writes, flee from sexual immorality.

54

:

All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins

against their own body.

55

:

This passage highlights the seriousness of sexual sin.

56

:

Unlike other sins, it affects the very vessel through which we experience and interact

with the world, our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit.

57

:

The Bible teaches that our bodies are not merely flesh guys, but they are sacred.

58

:

1 Corinthians 6 verses 19 -20, Paul adds, Do you not know that your bodies are the temples

of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God?

59

:

You are not your own, you were bought at a price.

60

:

Man, so powerful.

61

:

Therefore, honor God with your bodies.

62

:

Engaging in sexual sin is

63

:

dishonors the body and it damages the very temple where God's spirit resides.

64

:

2.

65

:

Spiritual implications of sexual sin Sexual sin, while pleasurable in the moment, carries

long -lasting spiritual consequences.

66

:

By sinning against our own bodies, we create a distance between ourselves and God.

67

:

Paul instructs believers, but among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality

or of any kind of impurity or of greed because these are improper for God's holy people.

68

:

God calls his people to purity because he knows that sexual immorality clouds our

spiritual vision and distances us from his presence.

69

:

Sexual sin also entangles us in shame and guilt and spiritual bondage.

70

:

makes it harder to hear God's voice clearly and to walk in freedom.

71

:

Romans chapter 6 verse 16 says, don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone

as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey?

72

:

Whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which

73

:

leads to righteousness.

74

:

It's a tough thing when we actually become slaves to these things.

75

:

Whether righteous or not, sexual sin can trap us in a cycle of spiritual death, keeping us

from the abundant life that Christ offers.

76

:

Talking point number three, this is the call to flee sexual sin.

77

:

The Bible doesn't just warn us about the dangers of sexual sin.

78

:

It tells us to flee from it.

79

:

Once again in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 18, Paul doesn't say to fight or resist sexual

temptation.

80

:

He says to run from it.

81

:

Sexual sin is so powerful that it requires drastic action.

82

:

We are not called to negotiate with temptation.

83

:

I love this, but to avoid it altogether.

84

:

One of the most vivid examples of fleeing sexual sin.

85

:

It's found in the story of Joseph.

86

:

When Potiphar's wife attempted to seduce him, Joseph didn't stand around and consider his

options.

87

:

Instead, he ran from the situation, leaving his cloak, leaving his robe behind.

88

:

you can read about that in Genesis 39.

89

:

His quick decision to flee saved him from falling into sin.

90

:

The Bible encourages the same response in all believers.

91

:

to avoid situations that lead to temptation and to quickly remove ourselves when sexual

sin tries to ensnare us.

92

:

Talking point number four is purity is protection and honor to God.

93

:

God's command to remain pure isn't just about avoiding punishment guys.

94

:

It's a pathway to protection and blessing.

95

:

When we live in purity, we protect our hearts, our minds and bodies from the brokenness

that sexual sin brings.

96

:

Proverbs 4 .23 warns, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from

it.

97

:

Sexual purity guards our heart from being fragmented and distorted by sin.

98

:

Purity also honors God.

99

:

Ephesians 5 verses 1 and 2 urges, follow God's example.

100

:

Therefore, as dearly loved children,

101

:

and walk in the way of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a

fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

102

:

Remaining sexually pure is one way we can offer our lives as a pleasing sacrifice to God,

walking in love and obedience to his commands.

103

:

5.

104

:

The redeeming power of repentance Finally, while sexual sin is damaging,

105

:

It's not the end of the story guys.

106

:

Like I said, I had breakthrough in my own personal life and my own testimony and there is

the same for you.

107

:

The Bible is full of examples of God's forgiveness and restoration for those who turn away

from sin.

108

:

In 1 John chapter 1 verse 9, we are told if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just

and will forgive us our sins and purify us.

109

:

from all unrighteousness.

110

:

Jesus' sacrifice on the cross provides redemption for all sin, including sexual sin.

111

:

No matter what has happened in the past, God offers grace and a path to healing and

restoration.

112

:

The Bible calls us believers to flee from sexual sin because of the profound spiritual and

physical consequences it carries.

113

:

Remember that sexual immorality distorts God's vision and design for our bodies, our

lives, and it creates separation between us and God and leads to spiritual bondage.

114

:

However, by remaining pure, we protect our bodies, honoring God and experiencing His

blessings.

115

:

If we have fallen, God's grace is more than enough to restore us and set us back on the

path of purity.

116

:

So in the mighty name of Jesus, I just declare that the power of sexual sin is broken over

my brother that is broken over my sister.

117

:

Father, I thank you for removing the leech that is trying to take away from their peace of

mind that is trying to distort their view and just have them consume content that they

118

:

know they shouldn't be doing.

119

:

God, I thank you for restoring hope to them.

120

:

God, I just command the breaker spirit, the breaker anointing to go forth.

121

:

and to break them out of sexual bondage, out of that sexual sin.

122

:

I just declare over them that they can do all things through Him, through you, Jesus

Christ, that gives them strength.

123

:

Father, in their weakness, make them strong.

124

:

I declare you free and a clean slate.

125

:

All of that guilt, shame, condemnation has to go.

126

:

In Jesus' mighty name.

127

:

Amen.
