Episode 6

Jesus Didn't Heal

Published on: 18th August, 2025

Christian shares foundational insights into the ministry of Jesus and the essential role of the Holy Spirit in healing and empowerment. He emphasizes the importance of understanding Jesus' earthly ministry and how it models a life empowered by the Holy Spirit. Through personal anecdotes and scriptural references, he illustrates the transformative power of faith and the interconnectedness of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in the believer's life. He also notes how many Christians may accept Jesus but lack the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. He explores the necessity of receiving this power to live a fulfilled Christian life, the cost of discipleship, and the importance of seeking a deeper relationship with God. There is even a challenge for listeners to move beyond mere belief to actively engage with the Holy Spirit, highlighting the ongoing mission of Jesus and the call for believers to bear fruit in their lives.

🧠 What You’ll Learn:

• Jesus' ministry was collaborative; He didn't heal alone.

• The internal healing is often more significant than the physical.

• Healing is a promise for believers; it should be expected.

• The Holy Spirit is a gift that empowers believers.

• Jesus modeled a life of obedience and reliance on the Holy Spirit.

• The gospel is about moving from sin to righteousness.

• Jesus' anointing was for a purpose: to heal and set free.

• Many Christians believe in Jesus but lack knowledge of the Holy Spirit.

• Jesus did not raise himself; it was the Holy Spirit's power.

• We need to stop using the excuse, 'But he was Jesus.'

Christian Searer (:

I love being a dad. I really do. It's so difficult for me to put her down. It is ridiculous. I don't want to do anything except love up on her. And I can only imagine like our father in heaven, he doesn't want to put us down. He just wants to continually love up on us. And it says like, even us, like I think it's the scripture talking about if you ask your father to give you bread, he's not going to give you a snake. He's not going to give you a stone. He's going to give you a good gift. The thing that you're asking for.

but God even in that scripture calls us evil. He says, you who are evil, can you imagine if he thinks giving what our child asks for is evil? How amazing is it? What he gives us is this a pure and clear channel? He's so good. This morning I'm going to be talking. The title is Jesus didn't heal.

Jesus didn't heal. If that's stirring you as I'm saying those words, it should. There's a word that I'm going to add to that title. It's Jesus didn't heal alone. Alone. And we're going to break down what that looks like. I'm going to be reading from the word of God today. A lot of scripture. Is that okay that I read scripture over you guys? Okay, very good. A couple house things.

If I, if you get done before I do, you're more than welcome. Don't feel as if that you're held here. if you guys have plans, things that you got to do, feel free. If you get done before I do, I'm, have a word that I'm supposed to deliver today and I'm not going to leave until it's done. so anyways, second thing, if I'm doing really bad, like if I'm, if I'm teaching really bad today, I just want you to sit there.

just stone face, hands down, and not making a peep, okay? So if I'm doing really bad today, I want you just to sit there, if a stone face, hands down, and don't make a peep. But if I'm doing good, you can give me a little bit of feedback, okay? This is God's house. This isn't warrior's house. This isn't Psalm 72's house. This is no man's house other than Jesus Christ alone. If you are God's children, you can play in his house. You can make a little noise in his house.

Christian Searer (:

So don't feel restricted when you're in your father's house. There's a couple foundational things that God wants me to lay out this morning. In particular, Jesus, His earthly ministry, how He came to earth, two, the Holy Spirit and the functionality of it, and three, how Jesus modeled a life with the Holy Spirit and how it parallels ours.

So there's a lot of scripture in between to lay down these foundational truths. And as I've been talking to people, I've been finding out like, wait, hold up, you don't know that? Wait, wait, wait, wait, what? Now we got to lay this foundation down and God's just been like, like burning this thing inside of me. And I'm so happy to be able to release it today. This last encounter night, so Friday, my wife and I, have a ministry called Psalm 72.

And gosh, I love that my daughter's looking at me right now. This is so awesome. We have a ministry called Psalm 72, and you can't point at Psalm 72 and say it's this particular thing. It's kind of like an umbrella, and we have multiple different pillars underneath of it. And one of those pillars is encounter night. And that's this Friday at six o'clock here at 134 Shaw Avenue, where people can come and tangibly experience the presence and power of God. The last encounter night that we had, there was a woman who came up

on a crutch and her right side of her ribs was all busted up in bruise. She could only sleep an hour, maybe two hours at night just because of the pain that she was in. And there was this large lump on the side of her ribs. Alongside of her crutch is a boot in this boot was holding her foot in it because she had a torn calf muscle and a hematoma. So she comes limping up.

And she doesn't want prayer physically, she wants prayer internally. How beautiful is this? Because God looks at the inside, not the outside, and she understood that the inside was way more impactful, way more important than the outside. She comes up because God was touching her heart. She said, I want prayer for internal things. And I'm looking at her like, woman, a God, like, come on, there's a lot that we could be praying here. She said, I want to pray for my heart.

Christian Searer (:

My wife and I, we just get a word of knowledge that God just wants to hug her and we embrace her. She breaks down and cries for three, four, five minutes. We pull back and say, all right, we're going to address the physical things now. As we pray, we go right at this lump that's on the side of our ribs. And I say lump dissolve in the name of Jesus. And by golly, it did. I mean, this huge lump that was on the side of her ribs just completely disappeared.

and she's feeling all over her ribs. Mind you, her ribs are in excruciating pain. Could only sleep one or two hours a night. She's feeling all over her ribs. And I said, where is it? She said, I don't know. I said, is it there? She said, it's gone. And she's still feeling all over her ribs. And I said, and how's those ribs? She said, the pain's gone. Mind you, she walked down with a limp in pain, huge bump, gone, pain gone. Get a word of knowledge.

Woman of God, your hips are out of alignment. I command your hips to come in alignment in Jesus name. She stands up an inch taller, an inch taller, right in front of us. I said, I said, if he's healed all of this stuff, why wouldn't he heal your leg? Why wouldn't he do it? I said, give me your crutch. Let's do something crazy. She said, I'm not going to run across the floor if that's what you're saying. I said, that's okay. No one's asking you to run, but grab my hands and walk with me. Walk with me. Walk with me.

she starts to walk, she starts to walk. And her leg wasn't 100 % in the moment, but it was substantially better. And I got a message from her the other day. She said, Christian, was mowing the lawn, no boot, no lumps, no pain, nothing. Torn calf muscles completely healed. That's the type of stuff that Jesus can do. That's the type of stuff that he paid a price.

for us to walk in. Jesus is only the door and we put a lot of emphasis on Jesus and without him, we could not have eternal salvation. Without his love, without his shed blood, without him being whipped, beaten, bearded, completely ripped out, just, my gosh, just bleeding on the cross, completely, all of his friends has completely turned his back on him. Without that sacrifice, we would not have.

Christian Searer (:

the gift of God that is inside of us today, the Holy Spirit. We would not have eternal salvation. There's no way that we could do anything apart from Him. Just read John 15. You can do no thing, nothing apart from me. But in me, if you abide in me, you will bear much fruit and you will keep on bearing and this will please your Father. He doesn't want you to produce a little bit. He wants you to produce a lot.

God wants a return on his investment and he's serious about getting it. He paid a big price to get our life. Did you know that your life is not your own?

It was purchased with that blood.

It's not your own. So why is it that we live as if it was? Jesus was the door, but he gave us a gift. That's the Holy Spirit. And a lot of times we focus on salvation and praise God. We need to, that's very important. Without the key, without Jesus, without a personal relationship with him, we are damned to hell forever. If Christian got what he deserved, he would go to hell. And that's a fact.

All of us deserve hell. None of us deserve heaven, but through the gracious gift of Jesus's life, we can receive it by faith through grace, a supernatural empowerment to do something that we could not do on our own strength. I say that because there's more. There's more than just salvation.

Christian Searer (:

I think that salvation is like the biggest miracle that could have ever happened. It literally says that we're a new creation. We were one thing and now we're something else. We were an old man. That old man died and was resurrected and became a new creation. We are more new than we are old. We're completely different. I think that is the greatest miracle that could ever happen. A human heart that has free will.

that you don't need to tell a toddler, that's mine, that's mine, and where are I, give it to me, and they said this, and we are born needing a savior, we are born in need of a big heart change. A human heart surrendering itself to the obedience of Christ is the biggest miracle that will ever happen. How is it we can believe for salvation, but we can't believe for a lump to dissolve on somebody's ribs?

How is it we can believe for our heart to change and give it to him, but we can't yield our minds to watch this woman walk? How is it we can believe for the biggest miracle, but when someone says cancer, I don't read in the Bible where cancer is higher than the name of Jesus. I don't read in the Bible where lumps and torn apart marriages

And difficult situations, financial thing. don't read in the Bible where it says we are helpless. We are hopeless. We always have hope. There's always a way out. Romans eight 28 God works everything.

Everything for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his plans and purposes. Everything. We're not helpless. We're not hopeless.

Christian Searer (:

The last encounter night, I had one of my friends here and I've been pouring into him for years and years and years. And I love this man. This building would, we might not have this building without this man. Okay.

So if you're listening brother, you know what's out of love.

I said to him, I said, Hey man, what'd you think about the encounter night?

And he said it was good. It seemed like people got what they needed. People got filled, which I thought was like an amazing terminology coming from him. He said, but I really just, I'd much rather see an emphasis put on a personal relationship with Jesus versus what Holy Spirit can do for somebody.

Christian Searer (:

I'm just like getting stirred like what like, okay, yeah, I know it's we need a personal label. Go one.

And he said, like, what if a non-believer came in and saw people getting healed? Like, they would say, okay, like there's a God that heals or whatever, something like that. But it's the personal relationship with Jesus that changes our lives.

And something was birthed in me when he spoke that, that I just, this is the message that I'm going to be sharing with you today.

We need Jesus, but we can't do it without the power of the Holy Spirit.

You can't separate Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It's a package. It comes together.

Christian Searer (:

You can't have Jesus here in no Holy Spirit at all. That means that there would be two in the Godhead, but where's the third?

Christian Searer (:

When you get Jesus, you get the power of the Holy Spirit working in your life. Whether you want it or not, that's a reality that you were born into when you say yes to Jesus.

Christian Searer (:

you can have one without the other

Christian Searer (:

Do you know, I believe that healing is easy.

Christian Searer (:

I believe it's one of the easiest things to walk in.

Christian Searer (:

It says at the end of Mark 16, these signs will follow those who believe.

They will lay hands on the sick and they shall. Shall surely for sure. 100 % definitely going to happen. Recover healing is progressive. Miracles on the spot. This lady whose lump fell off. We don't know where it went. Could be in the carpet somewhere. That's a miracle. Healing is progressive. As she walked, her leg got healed.

but we will lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. That's a promise of God. If you don't believe that, if you believe that that's lesser than or a lie or a fib, then you might as well just throw out the rest of the Bible. Because if this one part isn't true, who's to say the rest of it isn't true? We either believe the thing or we don't. And when we do, these signs follow. So why is it easy? Because I simply have to believe.

If I am not seeing these things manifest in my life, I have to ask the question, what am I believing?

Christian Searer (:

We're simply called to believe. So I said to my friend, said, bro, you can't have Jesus without the Holy Spirit. I said, there's nothing in the Bible that Jesus didn't do apart from the Holy Spirit. I heard the Trinity explained like this one time, God gives the command to turn on the light switch. Jesus walks over to the light switch. He hits it. And then

The Holy Spirit is the power that turns the light on. That's the best way that I can describe the Trinity.

When Jesus came to earth, there's three things that he was born into. One, he was born of the spirit. Two, he had no sin nature because spirit is incorruptible. And three, he was fully man and fully God. I'm going to be going through a lot of scriptures today. So if you want to be Speedy Gonzalez on your phone or your Bible, can.

but you're going to have a tough time keeping up. So I would just sit back, maybe write some like little notes or like the scripture name or whatever. Um, but here we go. Luke one 35. Then the angel replied to her, the Holy spirit will come upon you speaking to Mary here in the power power of the most high will overshadow you like a cloud for that reason, the Holy, the pure

the sinless child shall be called the son of God. Here we see that Jesus is born of spirit, not born of man and woman, but born of the spirit. So this gives him an unfair advantage with no sin nature. First Corinthians chapter 15 verses 53 to 57, this is talking about Jesus. This is talking about what he needs to fulfill and what happens after. For this perishable part of us,

Christian Searer (:

talking about humanity, must put on the imperishable nature. And this mortal part of us that is capable of dying must put on the immortality, which is freedom from death. And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this mortal puts on the immortal, then the scripture will be fulfilled. Well, that happened.

Jesus did that through his death and resurrection. What was mortal about him, he stepped into a glorified body, immortality. What could die, well, he did and was raised again through the power of the Holy Spirit. And it says this, death is swallowed up in victory. It's vanquished forever. death, where is your victory? death, where is your sting?

The sting of death is sin and the power of sin by which it brings death is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us, that's us, the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Defeated death held in the grave. He fulfilled the law. He didn't nullify the law. He didn't say we don't have to look at this because when we look at it, it shows us just how much we need a savior and how much we need to change.

But he fulfilled it and no longer are we under the letter of the law, but the law of life!

Christian Searer (:

it says that anybody who wants to live under the law is cursed

Receive fully what the Lord has paid for. It's life in life abundant.

So Jesus was born of the spirit. has no sin nature because spirit is incorruptible and he's fully man and fully God, which tells us here in Philippians two, five to 11. It's a lot of scripture, but it's just too good. Have the same attitude in yourselves, which was in Christ Jesus. Look to him as your example and selfless humility. Who, although he existed in the form and unchanging essence of God as one with him,

possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes, the entire nature of deity, he did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted as if he did not already possess it or was afraid of losing it. But he emptied himself without renouncing or diminishing his deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality

in his rightful dignity by assuming the form of a bond-servant and being made in the likeness of men, he became completely human but was without sin because he was born of spirit and spirit is incorruptible, being fully God and fully man. After he was found in terms of his outward appearance as man for a divinely appointed time, he humbled himself still further.

Christian Searer (:

by becoming obedient to the Father to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, because he obeyed and so completely humbled himself, God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall balance a mission of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

God has to know that he can trust us with things. We go through tests. The pride get humbled and the humbled get exalted. Jesus humbled himself to the point of death, death even on the cross. He sweat blood. He said, God, if you would just take this cup away from me, but not my will, but yours. He was completely submitted as a man, fully man, fully God. Jesus.

did not use his divinity when he was here on earth. He didn't pull the, I'm God card. And we're going to get to this in a second. Jesus modeled a life as a man for us, as man and woman, to follow. He didn't come down as God and say, be God.

How fair would that be if a major league baseball player came in, cranked a home run and said, now you go do it. I'm not a major league baseball player. I can't step up into the professionals, the big leagues like that. How fair would it be if God came down here on earth, acted as if he was using his divinity and say, now you model after me. That's not fair. That's not fair. He does command us to be holy as he is holy.

Christian Searer (:

but he did it completely as a man empowered by the holy spirit and we're going to get there

Christian Searer (:

So we know Jesus is born of spirit, has no sin nature because spirit is incorruptible. He's fully man and fully God.

So what is the importance of these three truths about Jesus?

Christian Searer (:

This is what he's paid for. And I want to establish this. I just want to say it. It's a beautiful passage. We're going to read it. And then we're going to get into the Holy Spirit.

Romans chapter five, verses 12 to 19. I told you that I'm going to be reading some scripture over you today. Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, so death spread to all people, no one being able to stop it or escape its power because they all sinned. have all fallen short of the glory of God.

Sin was committed in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone when there is no law against it. He's teaching you spiritual principles here, kingdom principles here, how the spirit authority power, all of the legal things, how it works. Yet death ruled over mankind from Adam to Moses, the lawgiver, even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type, a shadow, a type.

of Christ. He was to come, but in reverse. Adam brought destruction, Christ brought salvation. But the free gift of God is not like the trespass, because the gift of grace overwhelms the fall of man. For if many died by one man's trespass, which is Adam's sin, much more abundantly did God's grace in the gift that comes by the grace of the one man

Jesus Christ overflowed to benefit the many. Nor is the gift of grace like that which came through the one who sinned. For on the one hand, the judgment following the sin resulted from one trespass and brought condemnation. But on the other hand, the free gift resulted from many trespasses and brought has brought justification. And that is the release from sins penalty.

Christian Searer (:

for those who believe. For if by the trespass of the one, Adam, death reigned through the one, Adam, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in eternal life through the one, Jesus Christ. So then, we say all of this for this one point. As the one trespass, Adam sinned, there resulted condemnation for all men

even so through one act of righteousness that resulted justification of life to all men. For just as the one man's disobedience, his failure to hear his carelessness, the many were made sinners. So through the obedience of the one man, the many will be made righteous and acceptable to God and brought into right standing with him. That's the gospel.

That's the gospel. We broke the law. Jesus paid the penalty. We got set free. It's fair. It can totally happen. If you break the law, Andrew, you're sitting in jail. I do the bail. I pay the bail for you. You can legally get out and go. That's fair. And that's what Jesus did. He paid the price for us. He did this by coming to earth as a man, fully God, fully man. He set aside his divinity, walked this thing out as a man empowered by the Holy Spirit.

He had no sin nature. He was pure. He was sinless. Fulfilled the law and set us free that so whoever believes in Him would be made righteous. That means when God looks at us, He sees Jesus. And when He looks at the cross, He sees you.

That's righteous. That's being in right standing with God. Not because you're so holy. Not because you fed a hundred people or gave a million dollars. It's a free gift. It's not by work so no man should boast.

Christian Searer (:

foundational things, guys. We know the basic truths about Jesus and the importance of why, but how did he walk it out? How did he model this life for us to walk in? There's a series of events that happens. Jesus comes on the scene when he's about 30 years old. He's on the earth for about three and a half years. And when we first see Jesus starting to step into his ministry,

You find him at a river with John the Baptist.

Christian Searer (:

Luke 3, 21 and 22 says this, now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized. And while he was praying, the visible, gosh, that would have been so amazing, the visible heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, you are my son, my beloved, in you I am well pleased and delighted.

See, John preached repentance. It was a baptism of repentance and Jesus was a man. So as a model for us as men, he needed to repent and not only repent, be baptized, which was a foreshadow of what was to come, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. And when he did this, the Holy Spirit came down on him in bodily form. He could have looked like a blob. He could have looked like a...

a rhino, could have looked like a man. We don't know specifically what Holy Spirit looked like, but he swooped down onto Jesus. The heavens torn open and Jesus received the Holy Spirit on him in bodily form. Right after that, the Holy Spirit then leads Jesus into the wilderness for 40 days, fasting, being tempted by the devil.

And we see right at the end at Luke four, 13 and 14, because we got to go through trials. We got to go through tribulations. We have to see if we are trustworthy. When the devil had finished every temptation, he temporarily left him until a more opportune time. Then Jesus went back to Galilee in power. In power.

So are you telling me that Jesus had power before or not because we had Jesus without the Holy Spirit, receives Holy Spirit, gets tempted, goes into the wilderness, beats up on the devil, then he walks out in power. Hmm. Maybe we need the Spirit. Maybe we need to overcome some temptation in our lives. Maybe we need to pass a couple tests and start walking in power.

Christian Searer (:

So he goes back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, in the news about him spread through the entire region. He then goes to the temple, the local temple, and he does the biggest mic drop ever. like this this scripture is, it's fire. And what's really beautiful about this, as the father sent the son, the son has also sent us. So as I read this passage, receive it for yourselves.

Here's Jesus doing a mic drop. He says, the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce release, pardon, forgiveness to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind to set free those who are oppressed, downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.

the day when salvation in the favor of God abound greatly. Then he rolled up the scroll, having stopped in the middle of the verse, and he gave it back to the attendant and sat down. Can you just imagine the Messiah, the Christ, rolling onto the scene in power after 40 days, kicking the devil's butt, reads the most prophetic, profound scripture of the Christ, the Messiah, who's to come, and he just reads it and sits down.

I love my Jesus. He is amazing. We can clearly see that the Holy Spirit, can I say plays, one of the most essential roles ever played. Jesus without the Holy Spirit is powerless. The light switch, the Trinity, once again, turn on the light switch. Okay, says Jesus. He goes over to turn it on.

When he hits it, if the Holy Spirit isn't there, the power of God isn't there, the light doesn't come on. Jesus, without the Holy Spirit, is powerless. And the Holy Spirit, without Jesus, is expressionless.

Christian Searer (:

Think about this. Do you remember the Holy of Holies, the innermost place of the temple where God's presence itself resided, the spirit of God himself resided in there? And if a priest would go inside and he didn't do the rituals right, he'd fall over as if he was dead. That same power of God is who is living inside of us today, meaning that

We are washed clean. We are a temple. We are made righteous. We have the Holy of Holies, the power of God inside of us. Elsewise, we would fall over dead if that wasn't true. My point being, Holy Spirit without Jesus is expressionless. Without Jesus being able to walk in purity as a sinless man on earth, Holy Spirit would never show up on scene. They need each other. You can't get one without the other.

Christian Searer (:

Jesus himself, now we're going to start diving in the Holy Spirit. Jesus himself and the apostles put a major emphasis on the Holy Spirit. We see in Acts 19, this is Paul, he rolls up on this island and they only knew of the baptism of repentance, John's baptism. And this is what Paul says in Acts 19, he asked them,

Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed in Jesus as Christ? And he said, no, we've not even heard that there's a Holy Spirit.

Christian Searer (:

The follow-up question to salvation is, have you received the power of the Holy Spirit? Without the power of the Holy Spirit working in your life, you're powerless. You got Jesus without the power. That ain't Jesus. Do you know that there are Christians who believe in Jesus, believe in repentance, believe in salvation, but have never heard of the Holy Spirit?

I was one of them. I grew up in a Methodist church. was father, son, holy Bible. No Holy Spirit. Jesus was a picture on the wall, powerless, just an image. There are people that have received Jesus, but have not heard of the Holy Spirit. And that's not the full gospel. That's not Jesus. Did you know that Jesus didn't even raise himself from the dead?

Romans 8-11, and if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who lives in you. Jesus didn't raise himself from the dead, guys. This was the power and working of the Holy Spirit.

Christian Searer (:

If Jesus couldn't resurrect himself, if Jesus couldn't heal, if Jesus couldn't deliver, if Jesus couldn't set free or restore without the Holy Spirit, why do we think we can? We need the power of the Holy Spirit. It flows from a relationship with Jesus, but there's a relationship with him to be had as well. He's just as much God as the Father and the Son. He's actually the only unforgivable sin in the entire Bible.

God the Father and God the Son honor Holy Spirit so much that if you accredit the works of what he is doing to the devil, that is unforgivable. Satan did that.

Christian Searer (:

When people say that Jesus doesn't heal, save, deliver, set free, miracles, when they say that that's not for today, that's a very scary place to be living in. I don't read anywhere in the Bible where it says Jesus doesn't do those things today. I read that he's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He's never changing. And if Satan himself left for a more opportune time to tempt him,

Come on, you don't think the devil is still working on earth today? You don't have to look far. You got people hooked on drugs, you got people overdosing, you see marriages fall apart, people don't know if they're cats, humans, dogs, men don't know if they're women, women don't know if they're men, men being man, woman, I don't even know. The devil's still at work today without the power of Holy Spirit, living in wholeness, living in righteousness, putting it on.

Not saying, I gotta get myself good. I gotta look real nice. I gotta do 100 things for the Lord and then I can. No, you receive it. You come as you are. We're all in process. Nobody's perfect. There was one guy who was perfect and it ain't you. It ain't you. There's a little Pennsylvania ain't.

Christian Searer (:

You know, I hear this, hear, I'm hearing right now that there are people here that need things. They need their ducks in a row. They need everything to look pristine. They need the just the I's dotted, the T's crossed. Do you know when God created the earth, he said it was good. He never said perfect. So stop putting that standard on yourself.

Christian Searer (:

The only advantage that Jesus had over us when he came to earth as a man was that he was born without a sin nature like we discussed.

Christian Searer (:

Jesus died, rose again, went to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, and he sent us the Holy Spirit, Helper. We have God inside of us. We're made clean, pure, righteous, sinless. We are in the process of being sanctified and redeemed. We are sanctified, but we're in process of being redeemed. Our spirit is incorruptible, but our soul's working on getting there. We have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

But you know, when people say, but he was Jesus. Yeah, brother, what do you think about, but he was Jesus. He was God. It's such a cop out. I can't heal. He was Jesus.

The way that he preached the word, the way that he was Jesus, like I can't ever do that. He didn't come to earth as God, he came to earth as man to model a life that you could follow and live in through the power of the Holy Spirit. The excuse, but he was Jesus is hogwash. He's given you his spirit inside of you. He's shown you how to walk this thing out. He isn't telling you to do something you can't do. Stop saying, he was Jesus. But do you know who's on the inside of you?

But do you know what he's called you to do? We said the warrior confession this morning. You are unbreakable. You're unshakable. You're infused with the power of the Holy Spirit and you're walking this thing out. Stop saying, but he was Jesus. Start saying, but he's inside of me.

Do know John MacArthur? He even says, on the cross, God looked at Christ and saw you.

Christian Searer (:

And when he looks at you, he sees Christ. So if you want to use that excuse, but he was Jesus, when God's looking at you, he sees him anyways. So go and do the thing. Stop sitting on the sidelines. Salvation's just the door. There's so much more.

Christian Searer (:

Here's some foundational truths for us as believers to walk this thing out.

The first converts, the first people who became Christians, was when Jesus was resurrected and he entered in and he breathed on them. Up until that point, they weren't Christians, they weren't saved. So basically, a lot of the New Testament is still Old Testament. Do you understand that? Because a Christ that isn't resurrected is in Christ.

Christian Searer (:

Christ that isn't resurrected is in Christ. Paul went on trial for this about the resurrection of the dead. If Jesus is not raised from the dead, you're believing in the wrong Christ. So when he was resurrected, he came to them in John 20, 19. This is the first portion of their conversion. And this is showing us how to do it, us how to walk it out. So when it was evening on that same day, the first day of the week,

Though the disciples were meeting behind barred doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, peace to you. Do know when Jesus comes to your heart, he brings peace? The Bible says to test all spirits. If it isn't coming with peace, it ain't the Lord. I don't know what this ain't is. I don't know where it's coming from. Is this, I don't know I'm picking up on Darren up here or what, but like.

I'm vibing. This is great.

Christian Searer (:

After he said this, he showed them his hands in his side. You need to have a revelation of Jesus's death, burial and resurrection. If you don't believe that he was crucified and he actually died for you, it's not Jesus. There's only one way, one truth and one life. That's the gospel, baby.

There's only one Jesus and you have to have a revelation that you are a sinner, that he paid the price holes in his hands and his feet, that he died and was rose for you pierced in his side. And when the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with great joy. Peace comes when God's knocking at your heart. You understand you're a sinner and you receive the truth that he died for you.

and then you're filled with joy.

Christian Searer (:

And Jesus said to them, Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.

Once you receive Him fully and are filled with His Spirit, He sends you on the exact same mission that He was on. The mission of Jesus has never ceased. It's only been a continuation and it is our duty and responsibility to pick it up and keep it going on. Matthew 28, the Great Commission, that's for all of us. It doesn't matter if you're an introvert, an extrovert, you work in the field, you work in an office, you're vegan, you're not, it doesn't matter.

for all of us. We're all called to do the work of an evangelist, which is simply just being a Christian.

Christian Searer (:

And when he said this, he breathed on them and said to them, receive the Holy Spirit.

It's a gift for every single one of us. It's a price that he paid for. He said, it's to your benefit that I go. I'm only one man. I'm bound on this earth living as a man. It's to your benefit that I go and you receive the Holy Spirit. Christian means little Christ-like ones. It was a derogatory term that they used to slander us back in the day.

little Christ-like ones. That means there's many little Christ's running around. And if God looks at the cross and sees us and he looks at us and sees Jesus, there's, I don't know how many Christians are in the earth, but let's just say three billion, there's three billion Jesus's running around. But how many of them truly know who he is? How many of them have a revelation of the death, burial and resurrection? How many

of them understand that the blood still speaks today how many of them understand and have heard that there is a holy spirit how many of them have heard the holy spirit but are walking in power

There's only one gospel. Just like Jesus humbled himself, we have to humble ourselves and receive it. And he says something so interesting here. I've never seen this before. He says, if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained. They remain unforgiven because of their unbelief. He says, but if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven.

Christian Searer (:

because of their faith.

Christian Searer (:

We have to be careful in the area of judgment. We never judge outside of the body of Christ. Inside the body, different story. Take the plank out of your eye and then, it doesn't say never, it says then remove the speck from your brother. We hold each other accountable in the body. We can bind and we can loose from earth. What is loosed on earth has already been loosed in heaven and what has been bound has been loosed.

there's been already been bound in heaven. have binding and loosing power. But not only that, it says if we forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven.

I've never seen this. What responsibility to not only tell people about Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, but to let them know that they are forgiven, to let them know that they've been set free, to let them know that they're no longer under the letter of the law, but the law of life. The woman with the issue of blood, he called her daughter. He restored her completely, fully, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Christian Searer (:

So Jesus blew on them, they received the Holy Spirit, but Jesus also said, wait in Jerusalem until you receive power from on high. But hold up Christian, I thought we have the Holy Spirit already. What is this power on high? Well, when we say yes to the Lord, do we get the Holy Spirit? Yes and no. Yes and no. It's yes and no. Yes, because it is the gift, the promise of God.

We are marked, sealed, protected as if we are owned, well we are owned by God and we are sealed and stamped by the promised Holy Spirit.

but we have to receive the power.

We have to receive the power. Jesus did it through fasting. The disciples did it in one accord, waiting. There was trials, was tribulations.

but it's modeled in the life of Jesus and it's modeled in the early church apostles that we need the power. I got the power.

Christian Searer (:

If these signs don't follow those who believe, what are we believing? If we lay hands on the sick and they're not recovering, that's not normal. It's not normal. If we are preaching a Jesus and we're not seeing these things manifest in power, we're preaching a powerless gospel and we do not serve a powerless God. So I need to ask myself, what am I believing that is hindering the flow?

of power in my life. What have I done or haven't done to not receive the power of the Holy Spirit? God, I desperately want this. You paid a price for it. I know you are only the door. The salvation is only the door. You have so much more for me. How do I access the door? We have to humble ourselves and ask. He wants to give it to us.

Christian Searer (:

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. He transforms us from the inside out by the renewing of our minds. He reminds us of the things Christ has said and done. He gives us grace, supernatural enablement to do stuff that we could never do on our own. Christian without the power of the Holy Spirit and Christian with two different Christians.

professing Christian, me Christian, smoking weed, getting high, drinking alcohol, looking at things should have never be looking at, chasing down relationships with the Holy Spirit. And one night all of that went away. And he came into my room and I spoke in an unknown language. And I said, what is this? I said, God's real. He's more real on the floor than I'm standing on.

and I've been walking in holiness and purity and power, seeing the gifts manifest in my life. But I had to give up everything. I had to say, God, you are more important than the bottle. God, you are more important than the weed. God, you are more important than any relationship on earth. I give you everything. And he filled me with his power. It comes with a cost.

And a wise person counts the cost before he builds. So count it, because it'll cost you everything.

Christian Searer (:

If Jesus didn't heal, save or deliver by himself, neither can we. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to do that. Do you guys hear a reoccurring theme here that we need the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives? Do get that? Do you get the Jesus model of life for us to live that it's not, but he was Jesus, but we can actually do that? Do you see how God fulfilled the law in the first converts or when they saw him and he breezed on them?

You've seen him, you've believed in him and he's breathed on you. But have you received the power? It's promised, it's accessible, it's there for you, it's not unattainable. It's not something so far off. God isn't dangling it like a carrot and you're on a little treadmill never able to get it. Are you hungry? Do you want it?

Christian Searer (:

waiting for you. You just have to grab it. There was a blind man named Bartimaeus and he was sitting there blind. He didn't like it. And he heard Jesus was coming through and he said, son of David, have mercy on me.

and the people around him said, up. Shut up, that's Jesus. Be quiet, you idiot, be quiet. You're filthy, you're nothing, just be quiet. Santa David, have mercy on me. Dude, be quiet, don't stop it. Santa David!

Christian Searer (:

Do you want this thing? Like, I mean, do you really want it? Are you willing to lay down your life for it? Or are you just good with Sunday football, going to church on Sundays, living like hell the rest of the week? Are you good preaching a powerless gospel, not seeing the signs manifest in your life? Or do you want it?

I mean you gotta want it!

Christian Searer (:

Jesus said if it doesn't bear fruit, cut it down! Throw it into the fire!

What fruit are you producing? Because he's called you to bear fruit and to keep on bearing. He's called you and appointed you. He has sent you as the Father sent him.

Do you enjoy reading things in the scripture and not them not coming to life and to fruition in your life?

How bad do you want it? SON OF DAVID!

Christian Searer (:

I'm not leaving this room until I've received power on high. Not doing it.

Christian Searer (:

I don't know what time you guys normally end, but I'm going to start landing this plane.

Jesus has paid the ultimate price. He sweat blood. He was literally rejected, beaten, abused. He was tempted with all things. There's no temptation that he did not go through that we have. We have a God that can sympathize and empathize with us.

Christian Searer (:

He's the judge in heaven who's judging and ruling on our behalf. He is the high priest in heaven who is literally praying for us today. The Bible says that all things are possible. All things are possible with God. All things are possible through him who strengthens me. All things. It doesn't say some things, part of things. He can do so much, but we get to a point and he just...

No, it's just not there anymore. Can you imagine like a woman here that needs prayer and I'm Jesus and she says, Hey Jesus, can you heal me? I'll do this, but not that.

That's not God. We can do all things through Christ, through Him who empowers and strengthens us.

Christian Searer (:

God has paid a price for you.

Will you receive it?

Christian Searer (:

If you've never said yes to Jesus, this is tugging on your heart.

This would be the time to come say yes to him.

Christian Searer (:

Not because of what Jesus can do for you, but what he's already done for you.

Christian Searer (:

gonna throw one more hammer in here.

This is the ending scripture and I will stand here and I just, love pastor Darren. The first Sunday I came here, this guy's bold. He's naughty. And I mean that in a lovely way, like most endearing way. He said, Christian, you could tell them you're just as crazy as I am. said, I don't know, man. I don't know if that's true, but I love him. He stood up here and he said, if you've never received the baptism of the Holy spirit, come up here.

He said, if you need something done in your body, come up here. If you feel God touching you, get up here. If you want to receive the power of God, get up here. If you're okay with what you got, I bless you. Have a great week. But if you want more, get up here. It's the final verse.

versus

Christian Searer (:

You foolish Galatians. Great start, right? Who has bewitched you before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? This is the only thing I want to find out from you. Did you receive the spirit by the works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish having begun by the spirit? Are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Did you suffer so many things in vain if indeed it was in vain? So then, does he who provides you with the spirit and works miracles among you do it by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Just as Abraham believed God and was a credit to him as righteousness, therefore recognize that it is those who are of faith

who are the sons of Abraham. The scripture foreseen that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preach the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, all the nations will be blessed in you. And then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham the believer. If you believe today, you can receive that promise. If you believe today, you can receive that promise. You are not being perfected by the works of your flesh.

It's to do good things. It's great because He loved us first, we love. It's an expression. But you're not being perfected by the works of your flesh or by the law. It is because we have received His righteousness and His spirit which transforms us from the inside out.

So Father, I thank you in the name of Jesus for those in attendance today, those that will hear the recording later, those that were listening outside as the airways traveled into their hearts. God, I thank you that there's more. God, I thank you that we do not have to be satisfied. But if we come to you, you quench our thirst and you fill our stomachs.

Christian Searer (:

There's enough of you, there's more of you, there's more than we could ever get of you. God, I want more of you. I want more of you. I want to see you on this side of glory. I want to know you in healings and miracles and signs. I want to know you in a restored heart. I want to know you in a surrendered life. I want to know you in a marriage that is completely yielded to you. I want to know you in complete, total unforgiveness. I want to know you in dreams, God. I want to know you in visions, God.

I want to know you in words of knowledge. I want to know you and watch you work through me as others are getting saved. God, I want to know you and to know you. I need more. I need more. I need more. I need more.

God, I pray over all of those that are listening to my voice that you would turn up the supernatural hunger inside of them, that they would not be satisfied with the amount of you that they have.

Christian Searer (:

Huh, you have as much God as you can get, but does he have as much of you as he can get?

Christian Searer (:

Father, I pray for their hearts and their minds that they would surrender to you, that they would yield to you. God, I pray for a deeper level of intimacy, a deeper level of intimacy with you.

Let us not be satisfied with the amount that we have. I want to produce fruit for you and I want to keep on producing. I want you to be glorified, God. I want you to get the glory. I want you to get the return on what you paid for.

Do not leave me complacent. Do not leave me comfortable.

I just want you, God, my will be done.

but yours.

Christian Searer (:

bless them and I send them with peace with your love. Jesus name. Amen. Amen.

Christian Searer (:

I'll be here if you want prayer. If you need to sit and process, you can. If you need to run out, run out.
